The participants shall:

5.1.8 Engage in asking questions and share expectations

ELEMENT 1.4 – ONGOING ASSESSMENT (PARTICIPANT ASSESSMENT FORM)

The instructor shall:

5.1.9 Explain the reasons for the ongoing assessment and formative feedback

5.1.10 Present the layout of the participant assessment form and explain how it will be used

The participants shall:

5.1.11 Engage themselves in discussion and ask questions when in doubt in relation to the assessment and feedback procedure

ELEMENT 1.5 – REFLECTION TOOLS

The instructor shall:

5.1.12 Introduce the methodology log, learning log and other relevant reflection

5.1.13 Introduce examples of how to use a learning log and other relevant reflection tools in a structured manner to capture learning experiences such as personal notes, wonderments, key takeaways, realizations and ideas – enhancing participants’ reflection and learning while at the same time supporting a feedback and continuous development process 5.1.14 Introduce examples of how to use a methodology log on observed methods (training strategies, teaching methods and practical exercise methods) applied by the IQT Trainer throughout the IQT course, capturing some of the basic pedagogical elements (characteristics) most importantly; its name, purpose, instructor’s and participants’ roles, practical setting requirements and limitations, and pros and cons of the training strategy / teaching method / practical exercise method

The pedagogical characteristics of teaching methods will be expanded in the later lesson on Learning activities and Teaching methods

5.1.15 Introduce that each training day will include a minimum of one reflection session with quiet time providing participants the opportunity to take notes or the like in their learner log, methodology and/or other reflection tools 5.1.16 Recommend participants to; at their own will, initiative and to the extent of their own needs, during each day (in and after class), take notes or the like in their learner log, methodology log and/or other reflection tools
