LESSON 14 – GWO TAXONOMY
The instructor shall:
5.1.78 Present the content and aim of the GWO Taxonomy Framework
5.1.79 Explain the relation between a training standard, lesson planning, and assessment
5.1.80 Lead a discussion about why alignment between learning objectives, activities and assessment is an important process in instructor practice
5.1.81 Guide participants in reading, analysing, and presenting on the GWO Taxonomy Framework
5.1.82 Guide participants in how to move through the taxonomy and build on skills and knowledge at each level
The participants shall:
5.1.83 Consider why the taxonomy is important to reaching learning objectives
5.1.84 Discuss how to align and use the taxonomy to determine if your lessons will support participants in reaching the learning objectives
5.1.85 Work in small groups to examine one aspect of the GWO Taxonomy Framework to present and share with the whole group on:
a.
what part of the taxonomy did you examine?
b.
how is it used?
c.
why is it important?
At this point participants should be working on designing lessons and learning activities for their next teach back sessions. Participants will continue to build on their work in upcoming lessons, so participants should be able to access their work repeatedly to continue

LESSON 15 – VISUAL TRAINING AIDS
The instructor shall:
5.1.86 Introduce types of visual aids that instructors may use in a training as well as their benefits and limitations
5.1.87 Facilitate a discussion around participants’ experiences both as instructors and learners in relation to the use of visual aids
5.1.88 Facilitate an exercise on developing illustrations to support learning points
