e.i an ongoing, progressive evaluation tool to give feedback and discuss the performance of a course participant guiding them to success
e.ii final participant (pass/fail) assessment providing a record of the instructor's assessment of performance
5.1.151 Demonstrate how to align learning objectives with suitable assessment methods using case studies or practical examples
5.1.152 Outline the procedure and consequences of a course participant failing a course, according to GWO requirements
The participants shall:
5.1.153 Listen actively and identify key concepts during the instructor’s explanation
5.1.154 Recall and summarise the differences between formative and summative assessment
5.1.155 Analyse sample training objectives and match them with appropriate formative or summative assessment methods
5.1.156 Work in small groups to examine one type of assessment
5.1.157 Share with the whole group findings on the strengths and weaknesses of this form of assessment and how it best aligns with safety training
5.1.158 Reflect and discuss the forms of assessment used in this training as well as their own experiences as an instructor and learner
5.1.159 Discuss how formative assessment relates to learning styles and personal profiles
5.1.160 Work in small groups to create a formative assessment and share with the larger group how they would use this to determine learning and adjust their teaching
5.1.161 Share with the whole group findings on the strengths and weaknesses of this form of assessment and how it best aligns with safety training
5.1.162 Reflect and discuss the forms of assessment used in this training as well as their own experiences as an instructor and learner
