5.1.226 Examine didactic models and ask participants different situations in which each model may be applicable
The participants shall:
5.1.227 Reflect on their own experience as participants and which models have been the most prevalent and most successful for their own learning and teaching
5.1.228 Examine the GWO Taxonomy Framework models in small groups. Each group should present a didactic model
LESSON 5 – ADULT LEARNING PART 1, PRINCIPLES OF MOTIVATION
The instructor shall:
5.1.229 Introduce the concepts of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, refer to the initial learning experience assignment and ask questions for examples of both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Other supporting theory may be involved, such as Maslow and Hertzberg
5.1.230 Lead a discussion about how the participants’ former experiences and expectations for their future work as GWO instructors motivates them to engage in the training
5.1.231 Lead a discussion about participant centred learning as a motivation amplifier
5.1.232 Facilitate a group assignment about why motivation is an important aspect of training referencing Lesson 2, Introduction to the Training as an example
5.1.233 Provide feedback to the small groups on their engagement and conclusions
The participants shall:
5.1.234 Discuss in small groups the challenges and benefits to utilising participant motivation
5.1.235 In small groups discuss how the experience of a group can support or hinder the learning group and present their conclusions in plenum on a poster
5.1.236 Discuss and solve case scenarios around motivation for adult learners
5.1.237 Receive feedback and reflect on the applicability
LESSON 6 – ADULT LEARNING PART 2, LEARNING PROCESS AND APPROACH
The instructor shall:
5.1.238 Present the basic theory and concepts of learning approaches and adult learning conditions and address the human factors that are part of every GWO training introduction
