LITERACY – Master of Education

This cohort program allows candidates to pursue graduate-level study in the various levels of literacy. The successful candidate will be able to work as a Reading Specialist or Literacy Coach. Total credits: 46 - this program is sequenced with candidates enrolled in 6-8 credits per quarter.

Admission Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution • Application to Graduate Studies at CWU • Submission of a copy of valid teaching certificate with application materials • Recommended o Minimum of one year of contracted teaching o Successful completion of college level courses in reading methods, language arts methods, and children’s literature before entering the program.

MASTER TEACHER – Master of Education

A program for current P-12 classroom teachers to advance their careers or assume positions of leadership within their schools. Key components of the program are student choice, allowing you to design your own program, and flexibility. Total Credits: 48

Part Time: 4-5 quarters (11 credits a quarter) Full Time: 3 quarters (16 credits a quarter) Admission Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution • A minimum of one year of contracted teaching experience in a P-12 classroom setting is required for full admission to the Master Teacher Program. Students who lack this experience may be conditionally admitted.
