SDSGA Annual Convention The South Dakota Sheep Growers Association ’ s 88th An- nual Convention is at the AmericInn and Event Center (formerly the Ramkota) in Watertown, SD on Friday, Sep- tember 26th and Saturday, September 27th, 2025. This year ’ s theme is “ Driving for Diversity ”. We will start by looking at the diversity of agriculture in the Watertown area on Friday, September 27th including a modern dairy and large lamb feeding operation. On Saturday we have an excellent lineup of speakers scheduled and our tradi- tional convention agenda. We have numerous regionally and nationally renowed speakers sharing the message of diversity in the sheep industry. Saturday evening will cul- minate with the lamb banquet featuring , where annual awards are presented, including the state “ Make It With Wool ” winners. We are looking forward to seeing you all at these events. SDSGA Premium Yearling Ewe Sale The sheep industry in South Dakota has seen a trend de- velop in recent years where producers (new or existing) were seeking superior young ewe genetics but in smaller lot sizes. South Dakota Sheep Growers Association looked to meet the needs of this emerging market and saw it as opportunity to expand its role and reach with the state and regionally. Additionally, thanks to generous dona- tions, SDSGA has started a youth buyer credit program where worthy youth are awarded $500 toward purchase of ewes at the sale. The sale is held the end of July annu- ally and has set the market each year! Membership to SDSGA Membership in the SD Sheep Growers Association is open to anyone with an interest in the sheep industry. Annual dues provide membership in both the SDSGA and the American Sheep Industry. Full Membership -- Dues are $75 per year for active sheep producers. Become a member today!
