How VCMPT Can Help Hip, Leg, & Knee Pain Physical therapists can help patients decrease pain and increase mobility when they are suffering from pain or stiffness in their hips, knees or legs. In doing so, they will perform manual therapy to increase joint mobility and flexibility of surrounding muscles. They will prescribe exercises to strengthen the muscles responsible for support around the hip and knee joints.
