POINTS OF PRIDE • Clubs and activities: Chorus 3-5, Drama 3-5, Student Council grades 3-5, Debate 3-5, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math (STEAM) Special PK-5, after school support clubs grades 2-5 and Academic grades 3-5 and School Board Operated - Panther Academy. • GRADE implementation program for 5th grade students • Young Athletes Program for ESE PK • Special Olympic participation ASD K-5 • Quarterly Awards K-5 and Quarterly Family Nights • Advanced Achievement Placement (AAP) classes in grades 1-5 • Dual Langage Program K-4, and district-wide World Language Competitors grades 3-5. • 1:1 Ratio for electronic devices K-5 PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT PK-5 Panther Prowl Race – The Sawgrass Panther Prowl race was created by Officer Ben Hodgers 13 years ago. His childhood elementary school held an annual run (it was the highlight of his younger years) and he wanted to bring that magic to Sawgrass Elementary! This event allows our school to have its kids and their parents participate in a schoolwide event. This run promotes good health along with bonding parents with their children and school administration. It is also a community event where the community comes out to cheer on the runners. It has prompted some of our students to go on and run in middle school and high school just like Officer Ben did. Over time, it has also become the biggest fundraiser our school has ever seen. This allows us to put back into the school for improvements and purchases for all of our students to benefit.
