POINTS OF PRIDE • Clubs and activities: Safety Patrol, Pantherettes Dance Team, Speech and Debate Club, and WPAW Morning Show News Team. • Students work within “houses” to earn points for academic achievements and demonstrating positive character traits, while connecting and building bonds during monthly house meetings. • City of Sunrise Proclamation: Deputy Mayor Jacqueline A. Guzman presented on February 14 as Wanda E. Haynes Day. • Ms. Nicole Coutain, Literacy Coach, was recognized as a Finalist for the 2023-2024 BCPS Teacher of the Year-Caliber Award. • Partnership with the Talent Acquisition Department’s social media campaign to encourage candidates to apply to Broward Schools. • Award-winning Art Program-having placed in 7 categories of the Winterfest Fantasy Boat Student Art Contest and the City of Sunrise Water Conservation poster contests. PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT Registered Cambridge International School & Cambridge Primary School. All 1st-5th grade classrooms are equipped with laptops for all students. Students in grades 3-5 are eligible to take devices home. Free tutoring during the school day available through Varsity Tutors. Real Men Read Initiative: In partnership with Hands on Broward, the Real Men Read initiative provides an opportunity for positive male role models to read and distribute literature to scholars in grades K-3.
