POINTS OF PRIDE · Proudly designated as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering Middle Years Programme (MYP) Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3. · Franklin Academy’s mission is “Building Better People Every day.” · Cornerstone of Franklin Academy’s academic program, chess is taught to all scholars to impact critical thinking and problem-solving skills. · Educational field trips include, out of the county locations such as St. Augustine, Kennedy Space Center, Florida Keys, Apopka, as well as local city attractions. · Our MYP scholars participating in athletics can try out and join the school teams of soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, track, and floorball. · Our Girls Volleyball team were undefeated in their division and went to the final 4 Championship. · The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) chapter is an honor bestowed upon deserving scholars by the faculty and shall be based on the criteria of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. · 5th Grade scholars have the opportunity to become School Safety Patrol by recommendations from past teachers/staff. PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT – IB AMBASSADORS The IB Ambassadors at Franklin Academy Sunrise Campus are the heart and soul of our school. These extraordinary MYP scholars are handpicked to embody the very essence of our community, serving as shining examples of integrity, leadership, and excellence. With a deep understanding of the IB Program and its core values, our ambassadors radiate positivity and enthusiasm, always ready to uplift and inspire those around them. They exude school spirit, embody self-motivation, and stand as a beacon of reliability for their peers. When new faces grace our halls, it is the IB Ambassadors who extend a warm welcome, sharing their vibrant personalities and genuine eagerness to connect with others. In every way, these remarkable individuals personify the spirit of our school and the essence of what it means to be a true ambassador of learning and growth. Scholars can apply to be an IB Ambassador starting in Year 1 (6th Grade). They must maintain a 2.0 GPA, get recommendations from at least two staff members, and keep an impeccable discipline record.
