POINTS OF PRIDE • Clubs and activities: Chess, Yearbook, Cheerleading, Art, Student Government, National Junior Honor Society, Future Florida Educators, and First Priority. • After school programs are operated by the YMCA: Homework help, Project-based learning, Physical fitness, and Athletics. • Students interested in sports can try out for the school teams in soccer, basketball, track, volleyball, golf, cross country, and flag football. • Westpine Middle has a wonderfully supportive Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). They sponsor fundraising activities, dances, and school clubs. PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT Verizon Innovative Learning Program The Verizon Innovative Learning 1-1 iPad Program is an educational initiative aimed at providing students with individual access to iPad devices to enhance their learning experiences. Through this program, each student is equipped with their own iPad, enabling personalized learning and empowering them with digital tools to explore, create, and collaborate. Verizon Innovative Learning Program also sparked innovation in our teachers, increasing their confidence and proficiency in technology. Becoming a Verizon Innovative Learning School opened a whole new world of teaching and learning for our school. By combining the strengths of the teachers with Verizon, we increased digital equity and supported students and teachers in unlocking the potential of technology to transform teaching and learning. The impact of the Verizon Innovative Learning Program is increasing student engagement and increasing access for students, leading to greater equity and partnership in learning.
