We spend 90% of our time indoors — so is there any surprise that the environments we create have such a direct impact on our physical and emotional health? Even in modern housing, the wrong material choices often contribute to a building’s poor air quality (including hazardous emissions). Equally, bad thermal or damp conditions can cause detrimental effects to our health. But it’s not just respiratory problems and allergies that arise from material choices, the psychological impact of comfort arising from sensory and spatial stimuli can’t be ignored.
