JOB DESCRIPTION
The post holder plays a leading role in the strategic and operational development and management of Estates and Property Asset Management for Imperial, taking responsibility for the commercial, leasing, planning and legal matters relating to property and land within the University’s operational portfolio. The role will work closely with the Senior Property Management Team as well as senior managers across the College, including Legal Services, to
ensure that appropriate agreements, processes, andpoliciesareinplaceandstrategicopportunities developedtoprotectandadvanceImperialCollege London’spropertyandlandinterests(excludingthe White City Campus). Of critical importance will be the post holder’s role in creating an innovative service for the benefit of Imperial stakeholders and which is recognised as a leading area amongst benchmark peer Higher Education Institutions. institution collaborative approach to the managementofPropertyandEstates,working with internal stakeholders in its development • To review, formulate and establish best practice policies, processes, and standards, which relate to and support College strategy, engaging and implementing innovative technological solutions. • To build and lead a Property team (internal and external) that delivers best practice and active property and estate management to provide maximum value/returns, subject to the occupational requirements of Imperial, which will have priority. • To develop and motivate the Property team, exhorting the values enshrined in Imperial Values, Equal Opportunities and Diversity Analysis and Reporting • To accurately analyse the performance of Property assets in relation to the strategic objectives set and report to the Director of Property & Major Projects and other Directors.

Leadership and Strategy • Establish long term strategy for Imperial’s operational property portfolio to support the University’s vision. • Identify development opportunities to grow and expand the existing portfolios and establish initial terms with landowners or potential development partners. • Develop a five-year business plan for the property portfolios, setting out the scope and strategic direction, key objectives, and targets. • To work closely with the Director of Property & Major Projects to develop and manage the planning of the strategic development of the University Estate and property assets. • To provide strategic leadership to negotiation, letting, leasing, property asset management and disposal of assets that are surplus to operational requirements. • To develop and implement operational plans in line with strategic objectives, setting priorities as necessary. • To lead on establishing an innovative cross-
