Do sada.
that loss comes not only at the instant of death – but rather in everything that precedes it. His name is Haymitch Abernathy. We know him as a cyni-
cal mentor and a man whose scars speak louder than words. But we didn’t know his story… until now. The fifth instalment of the global literary phe- nomenon that is The Hunger Games sees Susan Collins return to the past and to where blood became a symbol of resistance. Dawn at the Harvest returns us to a time when the arenas were more treacherous and brutal.
T he exhibition World Unseen, which forms part of the homonymous glob- al inclusive initiative, is intended for the blind and partially sighted, but also for everyone else. It can be visited at the National Museum of Serbia in Belgrade until the end of August. This unique exhibition presents a series of photographs by famous photogra- phers from around the world, including Ser- bian photographer Ivana Todorović. Her pho- tograph “In the heart of the noise”, featuring talented blind opera singer Nemanja Crna- tović, will be presented in Belgrade. “This exhibition is my wake-up call, and it isn’t just a photographic record, but rather an attempt to approach, through a tactile experi- ence, a truth that we often overlook. Through the portrait of Nemanja, who has been blind from birth, we are invited to halt, to listen to the silence, to use touch to familiarise our- selves with a world that is invisible to many of us. It is here that my visual world and Ne- manja’s aural world touched. This photograph seeks that we liberate ourselves of our prej- udices, that we stop looking and start feel- ing,” says Belgrade-based academic painter and photographer Todorović. The photos have been produced in em- bossed relief and are accompanied by au- dio and Braille descriptions of the photos. Thanks to the latest relief printing technol- ogy, blind and partially sighted visitors will be able to dive into the visual world and fa- miliarise themselves in a striking way with the world of photography that was previous- ly inaccessible to them – through touch and hearing. That’s because art can be felt in dif- ferent ways: through touch, sound, under- standing and empathy.
MUZEJ / MUSEUM Upoznajte „Nevidljivi svet“ Meet the World Unseen
