C-R Expo boffo success
every weekend visitor to the Clarence- Rockland Expo. “It was a fantastic weekend,” said Anne Lizotte, expo organizer, adding that both visitors and participants had something positive to say about the event. “Quality over quantity was the main comment.” This year’s two-day expo saw more than 3200 people passing in and out of the doors at the Jean-Marc Lalonde Arena to tour to
mix and mingle, look over 70 participant booths featuring local and regional busi- nesses, community service groups, and oth- ers promoting either goods and services or special projects. Besides the vendors, visitors also enjoyed several fashion shows courtesy of Giant Ti- ger and East Swell along with fast and furi- ous Rubik’s Cube skill demonstrations by lo- cal champions Matthew Snook and Antoine
and André Cantin, and strongman supreme and Mr. Ottawa contender Yves Drouin. There was also a special fundraising pro- motion for phase 2 of the skateboard park. Saturday afternoon’s pumpkin decorat- ing event saw some fanciful results. Justin Lalonde won the 3 to 5 age group, Payton Gillis the 6 to 8, Audrey Charbonneau, 9 to 12, Alexi Boudrias, 13 to 17, and Renate Kandler for the adult division.
