Funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. All funds are discretionary and students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Higher Education (Advanced) Courses Applications for funding advanced courses should be made through the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) at SAAS.gov.uk. Student Loan Many of our students apply for a Student Loan. It is worth keeping in mind that you will need to pay the loan back after you’ve left college or university and are earning more than £18,390. Other Funds There are other funds available to students, including: Childcare, Care Experienced Bursaries, Lone Parent/Dependant’s Grant, Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) and Discretionary Fund.
Most college students receive some level of financial support towards the cost of studying and it is important that your finances are arranged before starting your course. Students can access funding depending upon their age and status, and all awards are based on personal circumstances. The Student Funding Team is here to help you and can provide confidential, impartial advice on funding matters. Further Education (Non-Advanced) Courses The student funding you access will depend upon the course you choose but the most common funding sources are Bursaries or Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
