HAPPY FEET, CUSTOM FIT Comfort Foam Insoles Deliver All-Day Pain Relief
2025 SEPT
As a famous philosopher once
and similar vendors. These products were designed to address a particular structural or mechanical issue, such as heel or back pain. While they could provide some relief, they failed to address the patient’s core need for a corrective orthotic. In creating HeartNSoles, our goal was to fill our chiropractors’ need for a ready-to-wear orthotic that would be customizable on the spot, simple to fit, and easy to slip into patients’ shoes, right in their clinics. The price point, at a $99 retail value, would enable our customers to receive an attractive margin on each pair. We also tied the product to a good cause by donating $1 to Feeding America, a nonprofit network of food banks and meal programs, for every pair sold — enough to provide 10 meals for those in need. And when our graphic designer came up with the logo, an image of a runner’s foot with a heart shape built into it, we had our name! HeartNSoles are made by a custom manufacturer that uses the same high-quality, shock-absorbing polypropylene shell employed by custom orthotics laboratories. A top coat provides shock absorption. Then we married that shell to a memory foam, which produces soft, cushiony comfort for users and adapts to the shape of their foot. A rubber sole prevents slippage inside the shoe and lends long-lasting durability. We also simplified the fitting process by creating two unisex sizes. At HeartNSoles’ price point, many customers buy a set for every pair of shoes. Of course, certain patients still need a true custom orthotic, including those with rigid flat feet, a significant discrepancy in the length of their legs, or patients under 12 years of age. But HeartNSoles work well for a wide range of patients, including those with pronation (an inward rolling of the foot) or supination (an outward rolling of the foot), and also with knee pain or hip pain related to their stride and foot position. Please check out the insert in this month’s newsletter to receive your free pair of HeartNSoles, a $99 retail value, with your order of $150 of any of our products. (That’s right: You’re getting a bonus valued at nearly $100 for an order of just

is that you can’t help others without helping yourself, too. I still appreciate thinking about one of our longtime customers who told us
recently about a friend of hers who works at Piggly Wiggly. Her friend was a checkout clerk, and she was in constant, terrible foot pain from standing at the register all day. We had just developed a unique new product — a customizable orthotic insole we named HeartNSoles for their comforting impact on users’ sore, aching feet, legs, and backs. The name also underscores our promise to donate 10 meals for every pair sold to feed the hungry.
We gave our customer a pair of our HeartNSoles Blueline Cushion Foam insoles to pass on to her friend, and we soon heard the result: Our HeartNSoles made a world of difference for that checkout clerk. It still makes me happy to remember how we made her workdays so much more pleasant and pain-free. The story of HeartNSoles began with our desire to fill a critical gap in the market. Our customers often treat patients who need an orthotic insole to align their feet into a biomechanically efficient position, improving their gait, reducing pressure on sensitive areas of the foot, and easing pain throughout their feet, legs, and back. Before we launched HeartNSoles in 2023, patients who needed orthotics basically had two choices. They could pay $200–$400 a pair for expensive custom-made orthotics, and most users could only afford one set, so they had to switch the insoles every time they changed their footwear. Or, they could try low-priced, over-the-counter insoles by Dr. Scholl’s

The Real Psychology Behind Cravings It’s Not Just a Lack of Willpower
Brain
Joe Kryszak began hearing the buzz about methylene blue a few months ago.
Do you ever find yourself reaching for chocolate late at night or suddenly craving salty chips in the middle of the afternoon? You’re not alone and definitely not “lacking willpower.” Food cravings are a complex mix of biology, psychology, and emotional cues, and understanding them can help you respond in healthier, more intentional ways. CRAVINGS ARE A UNIVERSAL EXPERIENCE. Studies show that over 90% of people experience food cravings, with women more likely to crave sweet foods like chocolate, and men more often craving savory options like meat or pizza. So, if you’ve ever thought you were alone in your cravings, know that this is a near-universal human experience.
The century-old drug suddenly began surfacing in influential podcasts. Joe Rogan interviewed Mel Gibson about the actor’s claims that it helped cure his friends’ cancer. Then, Stanford University professor and podcaster Andrew Huberman interviewed Dr. Chris Palmer, a Harvard Medical School professor, about small pilot studies on methylene blue’s potential anti-aging or cognitive benefits. These mentions kindled a viral surge in the medicine’s popularity. “There was a lot of excitement about it,” Kryszak says. “After speaking to chiropractors nationwide who had heard of it and were very interested, we did some research. Some studies examine the potential benefits of methylene blue for cognitive functioning. Also, it does a good job of helping hemoglobin transport oxygen throughout the body.” For patients who feel lethargic or lacking in energy, he says, “the answer is not more Red Bulls and sugary caffeine.” Instead, Kryszak sees chiropractors recommending methylene blue for a cognitive boost or increased energy.
YOUR BRAIN’S REWARD SYSTEM IS DRIVING THE URGE. Cravings often originate in the brain’s limbic system, responsible for behavior, emotion, and long-term memory. When you’re stressed or low, your brain searches for a quick hit of dopamine, the “feel- good” chemical. Foods high in sugar, fat, or salt can deliver that boost quickly, which is why comfort foods are hard to resist. PROCESSED FOODS FOSTER ADDICTION. Research from the University of Michigan has shown that highly processed foods can stimulate the brain’s reward centers in ways similar to addictive substances. That’s why stopping after one cookie or chip can feel nearly impossible — the brain is wired to want more.
CRAVINGS MAY SIGNAL PHYSICAL NEEDS. Not all cravings are emotional. Sometimes, your body is genuinely trying to tell you something. For example, craving chocolate may indicate a magnesium deficiency, while craving salty foods can indicate dehydration or a lack of electrolytes. That said, it’s essential to pause and assess. Not every craving means your body needs that exact food. MEMORIES AND EMOTIONAL TRIGGERS PLAY A ROLE. Many food cravings are tied to learned behaviors and emotional associations. If you were rewarded with sweets as a child, your brain might now associate ice cream with comfort or safety. These conditioned patterns are powerful, but you can reprogram them. Food cravings aren’t just about what’s in the pantry. They’re about what’s happening in your brain, body, and emotions. When you understand the drivers of your cravings, you can make choices that support your well-being instead of fighting these urges blindly.
But users should read the label carefully. If taken with certain antidepressant medications, including SSRIs, SNRIs, and MAOIs, methylene blue may contribute to a potentially serious condition called serotonin syndrome. Otherwise, it can often serve as “a great natural compound that helps the body run more efficiently.”
To gain approval to sell pharmaceutical-grade methylene blue, Stirling Professional had to pass a rigorous four-month approval process, including an audit and examination of its business model
and target buyers. As a result, chiropractors now

have access to pure, third-party-tested versions of the medicine, completely free of formaldehyde and alcohol. “We are excited to be selling pharmaceutical-grade methylene blue to chiropractors,” he shares.
“There are other products out there, on Amazon and other places, but I wouldn’t trust them,” Kryszak says. Some are shipped from overseas and lack the quality and potency of Stirling Professional’s formula.
Methylene blue was first synthesized in 1876 as a textile dye and was among the first compounds used to treat malaria. Today, methylene blue is FDA-approved to treat methemoglobinemia, a rare condition that prevents the blood from carrying enough oxygen as it circulates through the body. It also serves as a dye to help physicians visualize tissues during surgery and detect malignancies in lymph nodes.
Some researchers have explored methylene blue’s potential use in treating mental health disorders. Pilot test-tube studies suggest that derivatives of methylene blue can affect the progression of Alzheimer’s disease by untangling proteins in the brain that underlie the disease, but more research on human subjects is needed. Stirling Professional specializes in developing high-quality products that can become significant revenue drivers for chiropractic offices, including a powerful line-up of FDA-approved CBD lotions and gels. The company makes its products available through chiropractors at lower prices, with higher concentrations of CBD than patients might find elsewhere. Independent laboratories test Stirling’s products for safety and purity, which are FDA-approved for sale nationwide, providing an extra level of trust and verification.

Have a Chat With Yourself — It’s Good for You 4
TALKING TO YOURSELF ISN’T CRAZY — REALLY! IT’S SELF-CARE!
You’ve probably caught yourself muttering under your breath or talking out loud when no one else is around. While it may feel strange, research shows that talking to yourself is perfectly normal and can be good for your mental well-being. GAIN MENTAL CLARITY When you talk to yourself out loud, your brain slows down and organizes thoughts more clearly. This is especially helpful when you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or need to make a tough decision. Saying things out loud forces you to process information more deeply, almost like giving yourself advice from a trusted friend — after all, who knows you better than yourself? BOOST FOCUS AND PERFORMANCE If you sometimes talk yourself through a difficult situation or task, keep it up! Research shows verbal cues can sharpen focus and improve task performance. Athletes, for example, often use motivational self-talk like “Keep going!” or “You’ve got this!” during training and competition. That same technique can help you power through a challenging work project or stressful situation with more confidence and drive.
FIND LOST ITEMS FASTER Have you ever lost your keys and started saying, “Where are my keys?” as you look around? That’s not just habit — it’s science at work. A study from the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that speaking the name of a lost object out loud can speed up the search process. When you vocalize what you’re looking for, your brain can use verbal and visual cues, helping you locate the item more efficiently. IMPROVE MENTAL HEALTH What you say to yourself matters. Practicing positive self-talk — like encouraging yourself after a mistake or giving yourself a confidence boost — can reduce stress and improve emotional resilience. Phrases like “I can handle this!” or “Let’s take it one step at a time!” support a healthier, more optimistic mindset. Here’s the bottom line: Talking to yourself is a powerful tool for improving focus, problem-solving, and emotional regulation. As long as the self-talk is constructive and kind, don’t hide it — embrace it instead. So, go ahead and have a chat with yourself. Your brain will thank you.
