the arena. Parents will not be allowed in the arena under the current provincial conditions. The creation of this season has made for an interesting first year for EPRMHA’s new president, Jessica Lalonde. She said one of her early priorities was ensuring the return to play document was complete and clear for parents. “It’s been a long process to put this together,” she said. “I think it’s been clear, because we haven’t had many questions, which means people have understood what is required of them.” The uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 contributed to between 30 and 40 children fewer signing up than last season, but Lalonde said those involved were excited to get back into the competition. “We still have a lot of kids getting into it,” she said. “Some are in the competitive spirit, but I’ve been told a lot of kids want just to be on the ice again. Parents have been the same.” Anyone interested in volunteering with EPRMHA for Atom through Midget levels can contact epr.vphouse@gmail.com.

The area’s minor hockey association is looking for help to make the coming season a reality. Fusion Eastern Prescott Russell Minor Hockey Association (EPRMHA) has asked for more coaches and volunteers at all levels ahead of a very different-looking, COVID-conscious 2020-21 season. The extra help will be required both due to increased health and safety procedures, as well as the creation of more teams with fewer players. The season will be split into two sessions for all levels except U7. The first session is expected to run from just after Thanksgiving through to December. No date has been set for The U7 session. Four “bubbles” will be created through the season, in which four teams will play. The teams within the bubble will not be allowed to play against other bubbles. The return to play rules also required that players arrive on time, submit a completed COVID-19 assessment before every activ- ity, and are fully dressed before entering
