Olive’s Remote Report: Dispatches From the Home Office THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER 2025
Hi everyone! Olive here — yes, that Olive. Your favorite miniature poodle correspondent, loyal Rinehardt team member, and now, part- time remote worker. That’s right — these days I’m embracing a more balanced lifestyle. I still pop into the office now and then, especially when I hear there might be a team meeting (when the snack potential is high), but I’ve found I enjoy the calm and quiet of my home office. I can snooze between Zoom calls and avoid stepping on any toes — literally or legally. Meanwhile, my little nephew Benji (Rachel’s big, fluffy Bernedoodle) has taken on the full-time, in-office duties. He’s still young, energetic, and totally obsessed with the mailman, who brings him a Milk-Bone every day like clockwork. Honestly, it’s impressive. I taught him the basics — no jumping on clients, napping strategically, barking only when necessary — and he’s running with it. I must say, I’m proud of the pup he’s becoming. On days when we’re both at the same office — in Columbus or Mansfield — it feels like a reunion tour. We share a water bowl, divide and conquer the couch, and keep everyone smiling. Let’s face it, dual- dog days are the best days. Our team continues to go above and beyond for animals in our community. Every week, a couple of staff members head to the local shelter to socialize with adoptable dogs. I don’t get to tag along (shelter policy — boo!), but I can always tell when they’ve been. I sniff every inch of their shoes when they return. John, my dad, is still on the board of the Humane Society, and this year the firm donated $5,000 through a tail-wagging Facebook fundraiser for the Paw-a-thon! You all shared your “naughty pet” stories — and wow, some of you have truly mischievous fur-babies. I’m not naming names, but one of you lives with a cat who launched a sneak attack on a wedding cake. Respect.
As for me, I’m living the good life — occasional office visits, long naps in sunbeams, bacon-flavored dental chews, and the love of a law firm family that truly understands the value of paws and purpose. My absolute favorite way to relax? Curling up on the top corner of any sectional — preferably one with a view. There’s nothing like surveying my kingdom from a comfy perch while drifting off for a midday nap. Wishing you all a joyful, treat-filled August. Whether you’re working from home, in the office, or just trying to stay cool, remember, you can’t go wrong with a little tail wag and a lot of love.
Paws and gratitude,

HOW WE DECOMPRESS (O
Rachel: My favorite way to relax is spending time with my two dogs — Benji and his big brother Leo. Whether we’re snuggled on the couch or out for a walk, they help me slow down and stay present. I also love planning cozy nights with friends, complete with a great playlist, snacks, and maybe even a theme. And when I need complete quiet, nothing beats a hot shower, a clean house, and crawling into bed early with a good book or something mindless to watch. Benji and Leo: My dogs are wind-down experts! Every evening like clockwork, Benji and Leo wind down with one of their favorite bone treats. It’s become such a beloved part of their nightly routine that they sprint to the laundry room door — where the treats are kept — and sit patiently (but eagerly!) waiting. Watching them settle in with their bones is the perfect reminder that sometimes the best way to relax is to savor a little treat and enjoy the moment.
absolute favorite ways to relax is simply sitting on the back deck, soaking in the sunset.
Squishmallow — it’s his ultimate wind-down spot after a long day of being a very good boy. Beenz, on the other hand, is all about blanket life; her favorite way to relax is bundling up like a tiny cinnamon roll and snoozing the day away. Suzanna: When it’s time to unwind and let go of the day’s stresses, I often turn to the simple pleasure of a captivating story, whether it’s in the form of a good book or a TV show! There’s nothing quite like cozying up in bed with a cold drink or a little snack and getting lost in the thrilling pages of an adventurous novel, or getting engrossed in a true crime documentary, or even some wonderfully terrible reality TV. These are my go-to ways to decompress and clear my mind for a restful evening! Brilynn: My favorite way to unwind depends on the season! If it is nice and warm outside, I enjoy relaxing and listening to nature. If it is cold and groggy outside, I relax by sitting on the couch, relaxing with the fireplace on, and reading a good, juicy suspense book. Bentley: The Mama’s boy of the bunch. Anywhere Mom is, he is in some shape, touching her and snoozing away. He will miss outside play time to lie inside with Mom, or be with Mom wherever she is.
Scallop and Yeti: The best way my dogs, Scallop and Yeti, relax is after a good round of zoomies. They wear each other out and then collapse, either cuddled up together or snuggled against one of us (or both, as pictured here on my back deck). Yeti squeezed himself between me and Scallop to join the evening sunset.

Kristin: When I wind down, you can usually find me curled up with a good book, working on a cross-stitch project, or planning something fun for my family. I also love quiet moments outside, soaking in nature — or chilling on the couch with my two sleepy sidekicks, Ozzy and Beenz.
Benji
Ozzy and Beenz: Ozzy loves nothing more than curling up on his favorite capybara
Leo
Stephanie: My favorite way to relax is yoga. The classes themselves aren’t relaxing, but the feeling at the end of class — and even after — is refreshing. There’s nothing like sweating out the stress for a boost of relaxation. I also love taking evening walks to unwind after a stressful day, and one of my

Chloe: We are lucky to get a lazy picture of Chloe. She is the youngest of the bunch, extremely energetic, and obsessed with fetch! A long day of fetch wears her little body out.

ON 2 LEGS OR 4!)
Barb: In the summer, I love to sit out on my deck with a good book — usually a mystery! Faith: I like to unwind by painting, gardening, or hiking. George and Loki: George and Loki like to unwind by taking a cat nap with their favorite human (Me!)
Homemade Dog Food
Chloe
Chase: The first dog of the pack. He is more known as the lazy old dog of the group. You will find Chase either outside under a tree, or you will find the 60-pound dog on your lap waiting for more love and affection.
Don’t make this on National Lazy Day, but it really isn’t difficult to make delicious and healthy homemade dog food! To make prepping this homemade dog food a cinch and to save LOTS of time and dishes, you can cook the hard-boiled eggs and rice in an Instant Pot if you have one. Start by cooking the eggs. While the rice is cooking in the Instant Pot, brown the meat and combine all of the fresh ingredients. This really does help make the process of meal-prepping homemade dog food so much easier!
George and Loki
Aaron: When it’s nice outside, I like to unwind with a round of disc golf. I also like to relax on the couch in front of the television.
Quinn: Quinn loves to find a sunny spot to soak up some rays.

INGREDIENTS •
Beth: My favorite way to relax is self- care, like a massage or facial.
6 cups cooked brown rice (from 3 cups uncooked rice)
• 2 pounds ground lean beef, cooked through, fat drained • 4 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and diced small • 3 medium-sized carrots, shredded or thinly sliced (or buy grated carrots) • 1/4 cup minced curly parsley • 3 tablespoons olive or safflower oil
Jeter: Jeter’s favorite way to relax is to take a nap. Since he is nearly 11 years old, naps take up the majority of his day.
Quinn
Melanie: When I have the chance to relax and unwind, my favorite stress reliever is spending time outside. I always find that the insects, birds, flowers, and fresh air are soothing and allow me to focus on the joy and gratitude that are so easy to forget on busy days. But if the weather doesn’t cooperate, I might turn instead to comfort movies like “Dirty Dancing,” “The Breakfast Club,” or “My Cousin Vinny”!
DIRECTIONS 1. Combine all ingredients in a large
container and stir to combine thoroughly.
2. Store tightly sealed in the refrigerator between feedings.

OUR SOUND BATH MEDITATION EXPERIENCE On July 8, our attorneys and staff gathered for a unique and peaceful experience: a Floating Sound Bath Meditation. Surrounded by water, nature, and the soothing tones of crystal singing bowls, we allowed ourselves to slow down, breathe deeply, and fully relax. During the session, participants floated gently on the water or rested on the dock with yoga mats, blankets, and bolsters. The sound waves from the bowls, gongs, and chimes created a meditative environment that helped melt away tension and stress. Sound baths support mental clarity, reduce anxiety, and promote emotional well-being — this would be the perfect way to celebrate National Relaxation Day! It was a beautiful reminder that even a short pause in our busy lives can have a powerful impact. We’re grateful to have shared this special moment, and we look forward to carrying this sense of calm into the important work we do every day. FLOATING INTO RELAXATION
