Fyzical Jacksonville - January 2020

This year marks Fyzical's 12th anniversary, which gives me time to reflect on both what has changed and what has stayed the same. I have seen so many changes in health care, and I’m proud that I have remained an independent practice. We continue to tailor each treatment approach to our patients' needs in this Jacksonville community. I would first like to thank you, all our patients, who continue to share your positive physical therapy experiences with your family and friends; you are our greatest supporters! Throughout the years, we have never wavered in our physical therapy dedication. We avoid double booking to ensure our patients continue to receive one-on-one treatment. We focus on treating every patient like family, friends, and neighbors. Treatment from start to finish is based on your goals for both functional recovery and future plans. For those of you who have been with me since the start, you'll remember when it was just me and my receptionist. Not too long after, I hired Kelly as our massage therapist, and she is still with us today. We continue to grow and now have a total of four practitioners and three office staff members. We have grown not only in staff size but also in the type of services we provide, including new equipment to develop these services. One of the most exciting programs we

have added is our balance and vestibular program. This program was specifically designed by Fyzical through education and research to improve each patient based on individual diagnoses. What I am always committed to is education, and with education comes change. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” While I am grateful for these 12 years and having committed staff and dedicated patients, I know that changes have and will continue to happen. I enjoy the challenge of operating as an independent practice. Our referring physicians have applauded us for doing so because they know the changes we make are in the best interest of you and our future patients, not for the bottom line of a large corporation or hospital system. As a part of this community, people are now more willing than ever to walk into Fyzical and ask us questions about their health and how we can help. We encourage everyone to be directly involved in their care. Our patients are better informed and aware of their physical needs and can ask educated questions about care. With our growth and development, we can provide more community service to the greater Jacksonville area. We have expanded to support many local

programs and host events throughout the year. Our workshops, both at the clinic and in the community, help us inform and educate you on the best practices for lower back pain, balance, rotator cuff disorders, and so much more! You name it and we can come to your community or group event and provide a workshop specific to your needs. In business, as in life, if I want different results, I must try different methods. Fortunately, I am passionate about what I do. As Albert Einstein is widely credited with saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.” I believe maintaining a patient-centered practice, focusing on community involvement, and continuously updating our education, services, and equipment, will keep us at our best to serve our Jacksonville community for another 12 years and beyond. Happy New Year, and thank you to everyone who continues to support and share positive experiences with us!
