Make a stop at the impressive fortress town of Orvieto where you will have free time to wander around. Later continue to the awe-inspiring city of Rome. Days 7-8: Rome Set off and explore the magnificent sights of Rome on a guided walking tour. You’ll see the stunning Trevi Fountain with its ornate Baroque statues, and another unmissable highlight, the beautiful Spanish Steps. On your second day here, explore Rome at your own leisure. Day 9: Rome - Pompeii - Sorrento Peninsula A full day of exploration begins with a visit to the Montecassino Abbey. Next, arrive at the ruins of Pompeii and after free time for lunch, meet up with a local guide for a walking tour. Later, you’ll arrive at your hotel for a 3 night stay. Days 10-11: Sorrento Peninsula After a few busy days of sightseeing, it’s time to relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel. Day 12: Sorrento Peninsula - Pizzo Calabro - Sicily Leave mainland Italy and head to Sicily, the island off the tip of Italy’s boot. On the way, stop for lunch in Calabria. Day 13: Taormina Taormina sits on a sheer cliff, perched above beautiful beaches and close to Mount Etna. The city’s highlights include an ancient Greek amphitheatre and a delightful public garden with sensational views of the shimmering sea. Day 14: Giardini Naxos It’s the last full day of your holiday - relax and enjoy the inviting pool at your hotel. Day 15: Sicily - UK Today you’ll fly back to the UK.
Day 7: Tbilisi Tour Tblisi, with its beautiful Orthodox churches, mosque, synagogue and sulphur baths. Day 8: Gori - Uplistsikhe - Kazbegi Visit the sixth-century Jvari Monastery, followed by Mtskheta, then continue to Gori, birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Travel to Kazbegi via the cave city of Uplistsikhe, set on the path of the Silk Road. Day 9: Gergeti - Tbilisi Enjoy an excursion on foot to the picturesque, 14th- century church of Gergeti Trinity. Day 10: Yerevan Cross the Armenian border and continue to the UNESCO-listed Haghpat monastery, a masterpiece of Armenian architecture. Day 11: Ejmiatsin - Zvartnots Visit Echmiatsin Cathedral, founded in 303AD and the official residence of the Catholic Church in Armenia. Have lunch in the village of Parakar and take part in a cooking lesson, learning how to make arishta (traditional Armenian pasta) and sweet sudzukh. Day 12: Yerevan Tour Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Day 13: Khor Virap - Noravank - Yerevan Travel to Khor Virap monastery. Savour views of the Ararat Mountain, then continue to Noravank monastery. Day 14: Garni - Geghard - Sevan - Dilijan Visit Garni, Armenia’s only surviving Hellenistic temple. Admire the basalt formations of Garni Gorge, before continuing to the mountain-carved monastery of Geghard. Day 15: Dilijan - Goshavank - Tbilisi - UK Take a stroll in Dilijan followed by a visit to Goshavank Monastery and its green and pleasant surrounds. Then, drive to Tbilisi Airport for your flight home.
