PROJECT

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY, BELFAST

HTC MECHANICAL SPEARHEAD A SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION WITH ITS EXPERT MECHANICAL INSTALLATION AT QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY, BELFAST’S SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT… CONTRACTOR

H TC successfully delivered the School of Management at Queen’s University, Belfast. The new building incorporated a geothermal ground source heat source system for comprehensive heating, while solar thermal panels were installed to generate hot water. HTC’s in-house team took care of plumbing, drainage and mechanical installation package for the extended and refurbished ventilation, including the installation of a fire-rated car park fume extract system in the basement area. Given the unique design of the building, HTC specifically installed service routes to suit its structure. Building Information Modelling (BIM) played a crucial role in coordinating all the associated services,

such as heating, plumbing, drainage and ventilation, throughout the building’s routes, corridors and floors. The meticulous design process conducted by HTC’s team ensured seamless collaboration with other parties on-site, eliminating clashes and allowing all trades to proceed with their installations smoothly. The Revit model was used to pre- fabricate services offsite by HTC’s inhouse team of plumbers and welders based in its manufacturing warehouse. Production drawings were instrumental in creating key project elements, including the plantroom, which was manufactured offsite and flawlessly fitted into place during the on-site installation.

“The meticulous design process conducted by HTC’s team ensured seamless collaboration with other parties on-site.”
