CURTAIN AND BLIND AUTOMATION

K ilkeel-based Bedwin Soft curved curtain rails and curtains at the new Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium. The project included the installation of wireless-controlled motorised blinds, heavy-duty motorised rails and double curtains in the chapel. Furnishing designed, supplied and installed motorised blinds, Four separate motorised rails were synchronised to allow the seamless movement of remains from the chapel to the crematorium. A fail-safe mechanism was incorporated, with manual operation from the pulpit triggering the motor to open the curtains. Bedwin Soft Furnishing, known for its bespoke blind installations, showcased its expertise in curtain and blind production by working with the project design team to fabricate soft furnishings.

Chris Wallace, Director for Bedwin Soft

Furnishing said, “Historically, our family business focused on retail, but over the past 15 years, we have ventured into the contract market. This crematorium project was a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate our capabilities—from

design to completion—in the curtain domain. It allowed us to combine our expertise in blinds with the intricacy of motorised curtains, showcasing the breadth of what our company can achieve.”
