The dust is now settling on what proved to be an action-packed season on track for Pirtek Racing and for both Andrew Jordan and Jamie Caroline it was a season that would end with championship silverware. Having already tasted victory on two occasions, Andrew went into the final three meetings of the British Touring Car Championship season keen to add to the impressive wins he had picked up at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park in the first half of the year. Andrew’s pace hadn’t been in doubt all year in his first season as part of the championship-winning West Surrey Racing team, but the races that followed the summer break had been full of misfortune. A near certain victory at Snetterton had been lost to a mechanical issue while leading on the final lap, while an incident at Knockhill had prevented Andrew making the most of the front running pace he had shown over the weekend. It left Andrew heading to Rockingham for round seven of the season seeking an upturn in fortunes, keen to bounce back to form. Qualifying would prove tough with Andrew 18th on the grid despite being just half a second off pole, but race day saw him display the impressive pace that had taken him to the Rockingham podium six times previously.
