Confetti is not permitted inside any of our ceremony rooms, however, you are welcome to use BIO-DEGRADABLE confetti outside the Civic Centre and Guildhall after the ceremony only. Confetti cannons/poppers are not permitted. If you are having a ceremony in one of our licenced venues we advise you check with them before your ceremony. Do I receive my certificate on the day? The ceremony fee includes one marriage certificate. You will not receive this on the day, it will be posted to your home address following the ceremony. Please allow ten working days for receipt. If you require additional certificates, these can be ordered online following your ceremony at bcpcouncil.gov.uk. Alternatively, you can call Customer Services on 01202 123 777. What happens if I notice an error on my marriage certificate? It is most important that you check your schedule carefully before you sign. We can correct any mistakes before you sign but if you notice a mistake on your certificate after the ceremony you will need to be referred to the General Register Office and a statutory fee of £99 payable. Do I need to register my child’s birth after I am married/civil partnered? If you are jointly the natural parents of any children born prior to your marriage/civil partnership you will need to re-register their birth.
