BCP Ceremonies Guide

6-9 months before…

• Choose your bridesmaids, flower girls etc, and plan their outfits. • Decide on transport and book if necessary. • Choose your gift list or alternative plan. • Plan and book your honeymoon and arrange time off work. • Send out wedding invitations (always a good idea to include local accommodation so your friends and family can make arrangements). • Choose menu options and order the cake. • Draw up full guest list so you can mark off once you have your RSVP information. • Book your notice of marriage/ civil partnership with your local Registration Service. • Groom/partner to organise outfits for themselves and best persons/ ushers. • Choose and buy wedding rings (if applicable). • Organise dress fittings. • Confirm flower order with florist. • Check passports are in date and organise any travel injections/ insurance. • Book hair and makeup trial run. • Start to fill in your ceremony planner/think of personal promises vows you might wish to say to each other. • Book first night hotel. • Organise hen and stag parties. • Choose thank you gifts for your ceremony party. • Pay balances if required. • REMINDER: make sure you have served your notice of marriage or civil partnership. • Buy your wedding accessories. • Complete your planner and return to BCP Registration Service so they can start planning and personalising your ceremony. • Organise dress fittings.

4-6 months before…

Emine Weddings

licenced venue. • Start to draw up your table plan. • Start to plan speeches (father’s/ best person). • Final clothes fitting. • Confirm all suppliers. • Order currency for honeymoon. • Pack for your honeymoon. • Arrange cake delivery to the venue. • Wear your shoes around the house to break them in. • Ensure all hired clothes are collected in time. • Wrap all thank you gifts.

2-4 months…

1 week to go…

The day before…

• If leaving for honeymoon immediately after your celebrations, enlist help of

friends and family to ensure any hired items are returned as soon as possible and any wedding gifts are carefully packed up and taken home. • Make sure you have plenty of time to get ready in a stress-free environment. • Off you go to the biggest day of your life. • Enjoy!

On the day…

1 month before…

• Chase up unanswered invitations, draw up final guest list. • Confirm numbers with your
