You will be welcomed to the ceremony by the Superintendent Registrar or Deputy Registrar and will then be asked to swear or affirm an Oath of Allegiance to His Majesty the King and pledge loyalty to the United Kingdom depending on personal wishes and religious beliefs. Each citizen is presented with a Certificate of Naturalisation and a welcome pack from the Home Office which includes information on applying for a British passport. Refreshments are served and there are opportunities to take photos to provide a memento of the occasion. There are two types of ceremonies to choose from:

Private ceremony. These can take place at either BCP Civic Centre Bournemouth or Poole Guildhall. Ceremonies can be arranged for a date and time to suit, and at short notice if you need to complete your citizenship journey quickly. As part of your private ceremony, you will be able to invite family and friends who have supported you throughout the process. There is an additional fee for this service. Group ceremonies. These take place monthly at either venue, for which there is no charge. Here you will be able to invite two guests to celebrate this momentous event with you. Either ceremony can be booked once you have received confirmation from the Home Office.
