ELGC are not the only golf club nego- tiating with unsympathetic municipali- ties. There was a long-running dispute between the club and the city over prop- erty valuations. Buffalo City originally wanted an exorbitant monthly rental of R97 000. They have now settled on a more manageable fee of R21 500.
