Retail and Offices, Marlow
Current portfolio can be viewed here.
Marlow is a highly attractive, bustling, Thameside market town with an abundance of boutique shops, restaurants, cafés and bistros, with a mix of national and independent retailers.
Sorbon Estates bought their first property in Marlow in 1985 and by 2019 the company had become the majority retail property holder in the town.
Independents are a key part of Marlow’s unique character.
67% of current retailers are independents.
Sorbon Estates partners with the British Independent Retailers Association to assist all independents in our portfolio.
“People often ask us why Sorbon Estates invests in Marlow and there are a few good reasons: a beautiful riverside setting, impressive list of nearby towns and villages that visitors are drawn from, the market town architecture, the community spirit. But we also like to think that it is our long term view that is key to Marlow’s retail success.” “As the largest property owner in the town, we are in the very fortunate position that we can be selective with our retail tenants. We are not looking to drive up rents or to install the first tenant that comes along. We are looking for diverse, innovative, striking, exciting, unique retailers that can enhance and enrich the offering and help attract discerning visitors to the town for years to come.
“Marlow is important to us, it’s a special retail destination and we intend to keep it that way.”
Tamra Booth, Managing Director, Sorbon Estates
