DENMARK • Copenhagen wanted to build on its existing strengths to be Northern Europe’s leading business hub. • Prior technology architecture made it hard to drive digital transformation and deliver services to businesses and citizens efficiently. • Improved data quality and streamline made it easier for 10,000+ end users to collaborate • Replaced 40+ legacy systems and has the foundation to drive further innovation STATE OF ILLINOIS • Illinois needed to modernize its legacy IT systems some dating to the 1970s in order to build a more agile government and facilitate business investment in the state. • SAP ERP solutions were used to integrate 400+ systems onto a single digital core. • Illinois is currently working with the National Governor’s Association to develop a “smarter states” model for other states to follow.

NEW ZEALAND • Auckland Council amalgamated 8 local governments into one to improve citizen services. The new organization consolidated eight sets of business processes, physical infrastructure, and IT systems. • With a single view of the customer across all services and a unified, stable system running on SAP solutions, it can now deliver a more efficient and consistent service.

Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat • Responsible for the Financial, HR, IM/IT, and efficient and effective performance of the entire Government of Canada (GC) • It manages the $250B budget, the over 250,000 employees and the IM/IT Direction for the entire GC • Made up of approximately 2,000 financial, HR, IM/IT analysts that review GC priorities and make recommendations on where funding should be allocated.
