Definite fear has been expressed by many that seminary training is use­ less at the best and dangerous at the worst. They claim, “All any seminary will ever do is rob you of your faith or zeal, and spoil you for any useful service in Christ’s Church.” Perhaps this attitude is not so prevalent now among the general public or the stu­ dent world, but many look for short- tcuts, especially in view of shortage of manpower in the ministry. A Scripture passage, which is clear and decisive as to the purpose of sem­ inary training,, is 2 Corinthians 4:1-6. It reads (NASB): Therefore since we have this min­ istry, as we receive mercy, we do not lose heart, hut we have renounced the things hidden because o f shame, mot walking in craftiness or adulter-
