To be an effective leader you cannot rigidly follow a particular style of leadership. Your leadership style needs to change as per the situation and also as you rise up in the hierarchy. Operating only with technical skills may not suffice; you also need certain competencies to get you higher. What you need to do is test your paradigm and evolve.
