CWU Board of Trustees | February 2026

Central Washington University Board of Trustees February 20, 2026 A ction – Summer Session 202 6 Tuition Rate Increase The Summer Session Committee seeks authorization to increase the Summer tuition fee rates as follows: • 3.3 % for the resident undergraduate tuition fee, • 3.3% for the non-resident undergraduate and non- resident graduate tuition fees, and • 3.3 % for the resident graduate and resident Business graduate tuition fee. o This includes a change of rate during the academic year to 125% of the in -state rate, from 150%. State law provides a structure for tuition rates for fall, winter, and spring quarters. However, RCW 28B.15.067(4) allows governing boards to “reduce or increase full - time tuition fees for all students other than resident undergraduates…including “summer school students”. The proposed rate increases are as follows: CWU Summer Tuition Fee Per Credit 2025 2026 Change Resident Undergraduate 296.19 305.96 9.77 Non-resident Undergraduate 446.89 461.64 14.75 Resident Graduate 367.43 379.56 12.13 Business Resident Graduate 551.15 474.45 (76.70) Non- resident Graduate 524.37 541.67 17.30 This rate increase will help offset the instructional general wage increases and limit the impacts to Summer Session net profits. We recommend the following motion: The Board of Trustees of Central Washington University h ereby approves the Summer Session 202 6 rate increase of 3.3% for all student categories.
