ANCC FOUNDATION DID YOU KNOW?

ANCC Pearl Harbor Shuffle On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, Admiral Husband E. Kimmel , the Commander-In-Chief Pacific Fleet, and Lieutenant General Walter C. Short , Commanding General of the Hawaii Department of the United States Army1, arose early to prepare for their bi-weekly golf game. Obviously neither one made their tee-time. In the raid’s aftermath, there were a number of flag/general officer reassignments involving ANCC members. For more click here.

Do You Know the Clubhouse Rules of Attire?

As the summer season has officially begun at the Club, we’ve entered one of the busiest times here. When at the Club, members and guests are expected to adhere to the Rules of Attire as outlined in the Club Rules. We’re often asked what this means and with the Rules of Attire having recently been clarified/updated, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you of some highlights relating to the Clubhouse rules of attire. As a general rule, you must always dress in a manner appropriate for a country club setting, and clothes must be clean, dry, and appropriately fitted. As a member, you are responsible for making sure that your family and guests follow the Rules of Attire as you enjoy the Club. If you see or experience an issue that requires attention, please inform our staff so they may address it appropriately, and if requested, please follow their instructions. Your failure, or the failure of your family or guests, to comply with the Rules of Attire will result in disciplinary action as outlined in the Organizational Manual. If you have a question about the Rules of Attire, please send an email to rulesofattire@ancc.org . A full copy of the Rules of Attire may be found on the Club’s website here or by scanning the QR code below:

Yellow Ribbon Fund Wants You During Army Navy’s Centennial year, the club is pulling out the stops to make this year’s Yellow Ribbon Fund Golf Tournament the most successful in our 17 years of partnering with this worthy nonprofit that supports wounded veterans. The tournament will be on 28 October on the Arlington course and includes lunch and dinner. Army Navy members are asked to participate in a number of ways: by signing up for a foursome or other sponsorship levels, by attending the dinner on the evening of the tournament, or by volunteering your time. Spots are still available for foursomes and sponsors.

Register for the golf tournament or the dinner through the tournament webpage by clicking here . Volunteers will be extremely important to the success of this tournament. We will need volunteers to help with registration, managing gift bags, driving drink carts, and setting up for the dinner among other tasks. Shifts will be 4 to 8 hours depending on how much time you have to share. We would like to have 15-20 volunteers to allow for shorter shifts. To sign up, notify us by email at YRF.volunteers24@gmail.com and let us know the best way to contact you and if there is a particular task you would like to do to support this tournament. Yellow Ribbon Fund is a nationally known veteran service organization that has provided critical support to more than 33,800 military families over the past 20 years. By holding this tournament each year at Army Navy, the Fund has raised more than $2.7 million. Please help the club support with this exceptional organization.
