The Department Chair and Associate Professor of English, Katherine Fusco, Ph.D. ,
The Department of Sociology’s , Professor and Director of the Social Psychology Doctoral Program, Monica K. Miller, Ph.D. , was named a recipient of the Nevada Regents’ Researcher Award, an honor bestowed by the Nevada System of Higher Education in recognition of her significant contributions to the University through her impactful research in social psychology. In addition to this distinction, she was also honored with the American Psychology-Law Society Mid- Career Award , which acknowledges her substantial contributions to the field of forensic and legal psychology in research, theory and practice.
Through the Core Humanities Program , Teaching Assistant Professor, Sean O’Neal, Ph.D. (History/Core Humanities) and Associate Professor Daniel Ryan Morse, Ph.D. (English) have been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Teagle Foundation . This prestigious 12-month grant supports curriculum development in the humanities and will enable faculty to convene colleagues, revise existing courses and create a more cohesive intellectual experience for students. The initiative will also strengthen training for new graduate teaching assistants, ensuring a lasting impact on teaching and
received a National Endowment for the
Humanities (NEH) Summer Stipend to support her research and writing for Laughing All the Time: A Biography of Anita Loos (1889–1981), a project that explores the life and legacy of the influential American novelist and screenwriter. In addition to the NEH support, she was also awarded a Franklin Research Grant from the American Philosophical Society , further recognizing the significance of her scholarly work.
