ATHLETICS DAY In fine conditions, Harper House secured a historic win with 872 points. I would like to thank all the staff and boys who helped make the event a success. It is a huge logistical exercise, with a great deal of work behind the scenes. Staff put in many hours, helping with the heats and processing the results. Their efforts are greatly appreciated. On behalf of the boys, “thank you”. The day was a great success. We could not have done it without your hard work and commitment. Manager: Dr Briar Wait Captains: Charlie Cameron, Marcus Hamilton ATHLETICS CAPTAINS This year, the athletics captains were Charlie Cameron and Marcus Hamilton. They organised the team of athletes who helped set up the track for the College championships and helped run the heats in the lead up to the main event, including judging some events. When College was the on-duty club in the interclub competition on a Saturday, they helped organise the boys – doing a massive job. They were to have the added responsibility of helping me manage the team at the Canterbury and South Island Secondary School Championships. These boys have been excellent members of our College team and I thank them for their contribution to athletics over the years.
