INTERHOUSE HOCKEY RESULTS The quality of hockey was again high as each House competed passionately. In the junior competition, Corfe House met Jacobs House in the final, with Jacobs House winning easily, 6–1. In the senior competition, for the second successive year, Corfe House was too strong for Somes House, winning 8–2 in a high-quality final. finals. College struggled slightly in Term 2, with one win and one draw from the round-robin games, placing the team 5th out of seven teams going into the play-offs. However, College then struck form to beat St Andrew’s College, 2–0, in the quarter-final, followed by a tight 1–0 win over Christchurch Boys’ High School in the semi-final and a high-scoring, exciting 4–1 win over Timaru Boys’ High School in the final. College won the Schools’ Premier League for the fifth time in its 10-year history (having also been runner-up three times). Pre-season games Christ’s College 2 (Tim Seeto, Will Morris) vs Napier Boys’ High School 3. In this game, there were 1st XI debuts for Tim Gould, Matt Hocquard, Jack Sutherland and Finn McCormack-Young. Canterbury Schools Premier League – friendly round Christ’s College 2 (Finn McCormack- Young, Archie Batchelor) vs Burnside High School 0. In this game, there was a 1st XI debut for Josh Durant. Christ’s College 0 vs St Andrew’s College 0 Christ’s College 2 (Tim Seeto 2) vs St Bede’s College 1. This was the 50th game for the 1st XI for Liam Alexander and Tim Seeto. As a result, only 15 games were played. The season will go down in the history books as one full of challenges but ending on a very positive note.
