Once the logistics were sorted out for such a large group, 18 boys were selected to race in the inter-school races at the Crocodile Mountain Bike Park. The race series ran for five weeks, and College had several successes in the event, which involved more than 200 riders from around Canterbury. During the race weeks, the boys competed in either the non- championship sport event or the championship event. In the finals, Albi Roberts was placed 1st in the non-championship sport event and Nathan Cranstone was placed 3rd. In the championship event, which involved three laps of the challenging course, George Rookes was 3rd in the senior age group.
Following the inter-school event, several boys competed in the South Island School Mountain-bike Championships held over three days at the Mount Hutt Bike Park. George Rookes was placed a creditable 6th for his age group. Paul Rodley and Graeme Swanson MiC and Coach
