Launchpad Magazine Spring Issue 4

Nature and the simplicity of its beauty is also a particular theme for us, which is why we use sunsets, sunrises and waves a lot throughout our range. e colours we use really come into their own in natural daylight - they really pop - and we love that nature also plays a part in making our designs work at their best. Your work seems deeply personal yet universally relatable. How do you strike that balance in your designs? e themes we explore oen reect our personal experiences with grief and loss, as well as the stories we’ve heard from others, but the main thing we focus on with our designs is simplicity and the beauty that can be found in that. We want the colours and typography to speak for themselves, so that’s where we focused all of our eorts. We kept our words simple for this reason too, as we know it’s impossible to nd the right ones for every person and every situation. Art is so deeply subjective, and while we know that our designs won’t appeal to everyone, we design with inclusivity in mind – whether it’s gender, age or culture. Do you have a favourite piece you’ve created? What made it stand out to you? Our two favourite pieces are ‘You Got is’ (Warren) and our Disco Ball card (Rachel). You Got this is a personal favourite for Warren because of its bright contrasting colours and simple, positive message. We love how the words are so universal and can suit any of life’s big events - whether it’s a new job or an exam, right through to a diagnosis, break up or a loss. Our Disco Ball card carries the message of exactly why we have created the business, highlighting how beautiful and full of magic we are, no matter how broken we may feel at certain points in our life. We feel it’s a wonderful message to send to someone. What inspires your creativity when working on new projects? Are there particular inuences you draw from? Along with the colours, which are always the starting point, a lot of our designs are inspired by nature – such as sunrises, sunsets and waves. We think back to those moments in life where you forget the day to day worries to appreciate a moment of beauty – the ‘glimmers’ which can ground you and calm your nervous system. Warren is a big lover of shing and thinks
