D’JARIS ‘DJ’ JAMES

D ’Jaris ‘DJ’ James, a seasoned global talent aquistion leader, currently serving as a senior consultant at Georgia Tech Research Institute Office of the COO. A proud alumna of Johnson C. Smith University, DJ co- founded the university’s “Forty Under 40” alumni initiative and was honored with the 2020 UNCF Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Passionate about empowerment, I lead “Secrets of a Southern Belle,” a women’s group offering mentoring/coaching on breaking barriers, career transitions, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing networking, personal branding, and talent nurturing. Committed to youth development, DJ spearheads the M.A.R.I.E. Project, guiding students toward post-graduation paths, be it college or entrepreneurship, and conducting free interview skill workshops to enhance employability. Hailing from Charleston, SC, and now based in Atlanta, GA, DJ is driven to narrow the gap between minorities and opportunities, echoing Shirley Chisholm’s words: “I didn’t ask for a seat at the table, I took the table!”
