pair with the respective magazines soon dominating the world-wide corrugated sector. Together they launched Corrugated Today in 2005, a joint venture that was to bring the two families, particularly the younger generation, ever closer together. “Tom’s untimely death after such a long and valiant fight for life has caused great sadness for his wife Je- neane, children T.J. and Tyler, relatives and friends and the U.S. corrugated industry at large. As his ‘adopted’ second family and business partners, we too miss him so much – he will forever be in our thoughts.” “I first met Tom when I was about 14 while my fa- ther, Mike, was having a business meeting with Ted Vi- lardi back in 1987. Little did I know that it was the beginning of a friendship and business relationship that would span over 30 years,” recalled Dan Brunton, Managing Director of Brunton Publications and part- ner with NV Publications at Corrugated Today. “Tom knew how to work hard and play even harder! I will certainly miss his humor and insight. We have said a fond farewell to a true friend and a beacon of light in the corrugated in- dustry. My thoughts are with his family at this diffi- cult time, but trust that he knows we are continuing his legacy in the publishing industry.” Always Encouraging, Always Motivating “I will always remember Tom as being funny, kind and intensely devoted to his family, friends and the company his father started,” said Jackie Schultz, Edi- tor-in-Chief of Corrugated Today. “Before I joined NV in 2004, Tom and I were competitors, but friendly competitors. When NV and Brunton Publications started Corrugated Today, Tom became my boss. He always had an encouraging word and motivated me to produce a quality publication. “Tom loved the corrugated industry and especially liked to entertain at industry meetings, gathering a
