CAMRYN KENNEDY (Iota Nu-Kentucky) The Panhellenic President, and Then Some

This coming December, Camryn Kennedy (Iota Nu-Kentucky) will graduate from the University of Kentucky with her psychology degree in hand. Beyond this tangible achievement, she will leave college with unseen yet equally impactful takeaways: her Alpha Phi sisterhood, which has provided countless opportunities and lifelong friendships, and the leadership skills and connections she has built through campus involvement. As she prepares to close this chapter, Camryn already has a long list of accomplishments worth reflecting on, much of it shaped by her involvement on campus. Within Iota Nu Chapter, she has served as vice president of new member education and member experience, chapter president and chaplain, roles that challenged her to lead with empathy and purpose. Her impact stretches beyond Alpha Phi too. Camryn is an active member of Christian Student Fellowship and DanceBlue, a student-run philanthropy dedicated to raising funds and awareness in the fight against pediatric cancer while supporting the children and families affected by it. Through these organizations, she has found meaningful ways to serve others. “Being involved is extremely important to me because I want to leave my university better than I found it,” she says. “It allows me to make the most of my college experience and share my gifts with others.” Her involvement doesn’t stop there. In October 2025, Camryn stepped into the role of Panhellenic president, expanding her leadership to serve the entire Greek community on campus. After completing her term as chapter president, she found herself asking a simple question: what’s next? Becoming Panhellenic president was her answer and her next challenge. In this role, Camryn leads weekly executive council meetings alongside 15 fellow board members and connects regularly with representatives from each chapter across campus. When recruitment season arrives, the pace only picks up.

“I have a huge hand in planning primary recruitment, which is already in full swing,” Camryn says.
Still, it’s the relationships she has built that stand out most. Working alongside 14 other leaders, each a chapter president with her own perspective, has broadened Camryn’s sense of community in unexpected ways. Alpha Phi will always be home, but Panhellenic has given her something more, a wider circle of support and friendship. “We all have different personalities, are from different chapters and yet have built such strong friendships,” she says. “I know these friendships will last a lifetime!” Balancing studies with extracurriculars is no easy feat, but Camryn has always had a knack for it. She sets clear boundaries for herself, which helps her manage her time and responsibilities more effectively. To keep feelings of overwhelm and burnout at bay, she makes space for the things that recharge her, including weekly Bible study, where she finds a sense of peace and calm. When this Alpha Phi is not working hard to maintain her 4.0 grade point average or facilitating meetings for her on-campus organizations, you can often find her stepping into a different role entirely: wedding planner. “I’m loving planning wedding celebrations right now for my best friend and sister,” Camryn says. “I’m both of their maid of honor!”
