Delta Zeta-Maryland Delta Zeta-Maryland Turns 65 Sixty-five years ago, Delta Zeta Chapter at the University of Maryland in College Park was installed. That marks 65 years of generations of sisters joining a legacy of sisterhood, generosity, character and innovation. To celebrate the milestone, Delta Zeta sisters, both collegians and alumnae, gathered April 18, 2026, to connect, reconnect and honor the sisterhood that brought them together. Invitations were also extended to local International Executive Board and Foundation Board members, as well as several university partners. Chapter Advisor Wendy Gordon (Delta Zeta-Maryland) shares, “The wide range of attendees created a meaningful blend of past and present.” The sunny spring day provided the perfect backdrop for the open-house celebration, held at the chapter facility. Guests toured the space, revisited familiar rooms and connected with friends, both old and new. “A special highlight was a visit from Testudo, the university's beloved mascot, whose appearance brought an added sense of school spirit and excitement,” Wendy says. Many alumnae in attendance had not returned since graduating and marveled at the updates to the chapter house. Wendy describes the event as warm, nostalgic and joyful, adding, “Laughter echoed through the halls, and for a moment, it felt as though time had folded in on itself.” Alumnae and collegians especially enjoyed connecting across generations, forming new friendships and strengthening existing bonds. This is the power of Alpha Phi: a sisterhood that extends far beyond college and continues to grow with you over time. “That bond carries forward, whether through lasting connections with fellow chapter sisters or through the doors it opens to meeting Alpha Phi alumnae across the country and Canada," Denise Leonard Rosen (Delta Zeta-Maryland), Delta Zeta House Corporation Board president, says. New connections: check. Reliving college memories: check. Honoring 65 years of Delta Zeta: check. This celebration will remain in the hearts of attendees and stand as a meaningful milestone in the Fraternity’s history. Here’s to 65 more years, Delta Zeta!
