Metal fabrication is another key component of Rochester’s manufacturing footprint. Regional companies focus on fabricated metal products, engineered components, and precision machining – all of which serve sectors from heavy equipment to industrial products. The growth of fabricated metal production in
the Rochester area means a greater demand for skilled production and assembly roles and significant support for the local economy. Situated in Southern Minnesota, a region with a strong agricultural base, Rochester also has a robust agricultural industry. According to the 2022 Census of Agriculture, there are 1,102 farms that call Olmsted County home.
