Red River Visitor Guide

RED RIVER SKI & SUMMER AREA - WINTER In case you didn’t know, Red River has quite the ski town reputation. That’s not us just saying it. Recently, Red River was voted Best Ski Town by USA Today . While we love Mother Nature, our mountain doesn’t need her. Our snowmaking machines can cover 85% of our runs, ensuring the reliable delivery of joyous winter conditions for skiers and snowboarders. We have steep runs, bumps, groomed runs, a terrain park, and an almost surreal Enchanted Forest in an Aspen grove. Enjoy tubing, sledding and Après ski at the end of the day. Our unpretentious town is the backdrop. Rentals and lessons available.

SNOWMOBILING AND SNOWCAT TOURS Throw on your helmet and goggles, press the throttle and let the world become a blur. Snowmobile and snowcat tours tours take you to out-of-the-way places where autos can’t even go. These trips are adrenaline-inducing to say the least and offer 360 ° views of the area. You will be scheduling your next snowmobiling trip before you return.

TORCHLIGHT PARADE AND FIREWORKS After the sun drops, our slopes are lit by the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks every Saturday night. This colorful celebration is a Red River tradition and family favorite.

DAY TRIPS - THE ENCHANTED CIRCLE Town of Red River is part of the Enchanted Circle, an 84-mile scenic byway that circles Wheeler Peak, the highest peak in New Mexico. This beautiful drive not only puts you in touch with New Mexico’s natural geological formations but takes you through historic towns and points of interest. DAY TRIPS - NEARBY TOWNS Northern New Mexico has many unique towns in the vicinity of Red River. If you are looking for something to do outside of our town, we recommend a day trip to one of our neighbors. The views from the highway alone are worth the adventure.
