3 - Trails and Pathways
This Trails and Pathways Strategy sets forth four different types of connections: complete streets, multi-use trails, regional Veloweb (i.e. bicycle-specific trails), and paddling trails (i.e. water trails with designated launching and access areas). Goal: To provide multi-modal mobility options that connect destinations and provide for recreation and leisure opportunities. Policy: Provide new trails and sidewalks through the Capital Improvements Program, partnerships, and/or grants. • Action: Design and construct the following trail connections within the next 5 to 10 years:
Trail 1: Scenic Point Trail
Trail 2: Garner, Fuqua, Spinnaker Point Trail
Trail 3: Main Street East Trail
Trail 4: Lake Highland Trail
Trail 5: Schrade Road Trail
Trail 6: Lakeside North Trail
Trail 7: Long Branch Trail
Trail 8: Rowlett Road/Village Trail
Trail 9: Signature Gateway Trail
Trail 10: Muddy Creek Trail
Trail 11: Rowlett Paddle Trail
Provided on the following pages are conceptual connection strategies for each of the trails proposed.
