The role focuses on the College’s partnerships with other schools and organisations, both in the UK and abroad, and includes particular responsibility for the College’s educational links with the Dulwich international schools in Asia. The Alleynian asked Dr Pyke to explain more

What are the particular attractions and points of interest in the position of Deputy Master External? I oversee and shape all of our partnerships, both locally and internationally, drawing upon my academic and pastoral experience in my 24 years of teaching, as well as my strong belief in education as a force for good. It’s also a rewarding creative challenge to articulate our partnership work, and to measure it effectively. I’m able to visit a variety of schools in different contexts, and to engage with a range of practitioners from whose skills and expertise I myself can learn. Finally, I work closely with other members of the College Leadership Team in support of the Master’s strategic vision for the
