H ow can ‘human stories’ influence the global awareness and empathy of pupils? The question I was asking seemed simple enough. During Michaelmas, over twenty Year 13 boys at Dulwich took part in an Action Research project that sought to explore the impact of enriching their A2 Macroeconomics course with the study of attitudes to migration and migrants. Action Research is a methodology which can be used in education to explore the impact of teaching and learning on pupils, and one of the largest organised research communities exists through the global work of the International Boys’ School Coalition (IBSC).
