WELCOME! Since spring 2019, the Anderson Classroom to Career (C2C) Center has made possible for the Sentry School of Business and Economics to have its internship presentations in an expo format, where students who had internships talk to other students and faculty about their experiences, in a very engaging and interactive atmosphere.
Students who visit the expo also have the chance to network with employers in the area and hopefully establish connections for future internships or even full-time job opportunities. We have had students getting internship offers on the spot in the last two expos! We are excited to see everyone at our in-person event on Thursday, Sept. 21. Students will have the chance to connect with interns and employers, learn about specific internships that were done this summer, and receive Pro Events credit. Here is a preview about our summer 2023 students and their internships. I hope you enjoy the Sentry School of Business and Economics Internship Expo!

KARI ALBRECHT ’24
MAJOR Business Administration HOMETOWN Oconto Falls, Wis. ORGANIZATION Sentry Stevens Point, Wis. TITLE Claims Representative
What I did: At the start of the internship, I took a class and passed the Texas Exam which allowed me to handle claims. The remainder of the internship, I was handling claims in the commercial non-transportation department. That entailed making phone calls to different individuals, making payments, and closing claims. Another experience was the case competition, all the interns were split up into groups and throughout the summer we researched new ideas and/or improvements for Sentry to implement regarding various areas of the business. What I liked: I really enjoyed handling all the different claims. When I came to work every morning, it was always a surprise as to what type of claim I will be handling that day. I also enjoyed reaching out to different people and making those phone calls. Although I am sitting behind a desk, I can still have that human interaction even if it is just over the phone. Sentry also did a wonderful job making this summer fun and interactive through different activities within the Sentry buildings but also around the community!
Future Dream Job: Still exploring!

ORGANIZATION Schuette Metals Rothschild, Wis. TITLE Accounting / Finance Intern
What I did: I took part in a mixed variety of duties including reconciling bank activities, creating and posting journal entries, financial analysis, invoicing for both accounts payable and accounts receivable, cash deposits within our system, and projects including the creation of long-term payment reports of our clients to assist with our organizational goals. Each day entails different responsibilities and goals. What I liked: What I like the most about this position is that you have real accounting responsibilities and tasks. Engage in the three-meeting-step process with clients and help others achieve their future financial goals. During the meeting process the interns and CFPs create a personalized financial plan for our client to present to them.
