MAJOR Business Administration HOMETOWN Taylor, Wis. ORGANIZATION Northwestern Mutual Plover, Wis. TITLE Financial Representative Intern
What I did: What interns here do is we start by calling people we know and asking them if they would like to know more about building their wealth and financial security. From there we schedule all meetings with a CFP (certified financial planner or financial advisor). The CFP takes the lead during meetings but the intern can jump in at any time to add something they feel is important and we can talk with our CFPs if there is any part of the meeting they want to cover themselves. Engage in the three-meeting-step process with clients and help others achieve their future financial goals. During the meeting process the interns and CFPs create a personalized financial plan for our client to present to them. What I liked: What I really liked about this internship is everything I have learned about wealth accumulation and financial security. It really opened my eyes to the value of being financially literate and what a difference that can make for someone’s wealth accumulation and security. People really value what we do here because our main goal is to make them more money and help them keep more of it in their pockets.
Future Dream Job: Business owner.
